Loveland, Ohio - Since 2008

Since discovering CrossFit in March 2009, I have been incorporating the workouts of the day (WOD) into my workout regimen. I continued doing the typical weight training and cardio routines 3-4 days a week and a CrossFit workout 1-2 days a week. I continued this schedule for 6-8 months. I began to see some definite improvements, but again plateaued. It wasn’t until March 2010 I joined CrossFit Power Performance and the breakthrough occured. Working out in the group setting, and making CrossFit my primary workout philosophy was exactly what I needed to launch my fitness level to new heights. The daily WOD’s combined with a zone based “clean” diet has allowed me to achieve goals I’ve been striving for since I began training for High school sports. I continue to set new PRs (personal records) regularly. CrossFit has become a HUGE part of my life!

As a firefighter/paramedic my level of physical fitness is paramount to my ability and success on emergency incidents. CrossFit has better prepared me (physically and mentally) for my profession, as well as life in general. I began to share my knowledge of CrossFit methodology to fellow firefighters. Several began to join me in the daily WOD’s. Seeing their improvements, and knowing I played a small part in their success, was rewarding beyond any personal accomplishment in recent history. I knew then that I wanted to be a CrossFit trainer. If you are willing to commit, myself and the other talented trainers can help you achieve fitness levels you never thought possible. No matter your fitness or exercise background!!

Personal Tidbits:
Favorite WOD’s- “Cindy” & “Grace”
Least Favorite Exercise- Overhead Squats

Physical Therapy

My name is Andrea and I’m excited to join the CFPP team to teach mobility classes.

I started CrossFit in 2015 and fell in love with the combination of strength, gymnastics, and high intensity workouts, especially Olympic lifting. I have tried a lot of workout routines in my life, but nothing has given me the strength and results that I have seen with CrossFit. It’s also the only thing that makes me feel like a badass, which being a 5’2” woman is a big deal.

In my day job, I am a physical therapist with specialties in orthopedic manual therapy, sports medicine, and dry needling. I work with athletes recovering from injuries or surgeries in order to get them back to the activities that they love. This lead me to start teaching mobility courses for CrossFit athletes. I love to pinpoint limitations or movement patterns with athletes that may be holding them back from perfecting their lifts or maximizing their abilities. Come take a class with me to work out those tight spots and see what good mobility can do for you!

I am a wife and mother of a very active lacrosse devoted daughter. I spend my spare time reading about all things health and wellness. I enjoy listening to fitness and nutrition podcasts to stay up to date in various areas. I am devoted to understanding and learning as much I can about fitness and nutrition in order to pass this information to my clients. I work with clients of all levels and realize that when it comes to fitness, each person is unique in their goals, limitations, recovery time and schedule availability. I have experience in training high school athletes with specific sports related goals, youth athletes, dads and masters athletes. I have a passion in working with fitness minded women like myself who understand the importance of strength training as we age and have the desire to look good in that summer swimsuit. I am passionate about guiding all of my clients to navigate through all of the information out there to find out what best suits their lifestyle for success. My goal with each client is to help them reach their individual potential through healthy, effective, sustainable training and proper nutrition.

I have worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor since 2012. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise and enjoy helping people of all fitness levels reach their health, wellness and fitness goals. I have a Calisthenics level I and Level II certification. I recently attended a Certification to become a Eleiko Strength and Conditioning Coach to help others understand and execute better Weightlifting techniques in their daily training.

I am passionate about fitness. Schedule your appointment to talk to me about your fitness goals.

I was introduced to crossfit in 2013 by a friend who was just starting her journey. In the very beginning my thoughts were "they're going to expect me to lift that amount of weight and swing like a monkey on those bars??!!! these people are crazy". As the days, weeks, months and years went on I fell in-love with it ALL!!! I went from 3 days a week to 5 (sometimes even 6). I get bored very easily and I'm not self-motivating. To this day I have yet to be bored, I'm lifting those weights and swinging like a monkey. The classes, the people and the coaches keep me motivated and moving. Power Performance has become my second home. The people and the coaches are amazing, and I have met some long-term friends along the way.

I love watching my fellow athletes accomplish movements they doubted they could do and lifting weights that have them feeling nervous. During the 2018 Crossfit Opens I was excited to help "judge" (I prefer to call it "counting reps") my fellow athletes. This is when emotions are high and the energy level is through the roof. I got emotional with every single person. I watched them sweat, heard them use adult language and cry because they accomplished/super-ceded a goal. Many high fives were given and hugs all around. It's times like these (along with other competitions) that our community becomes a tight knit family. It's these moments that inspired me to become a coach. We all need encouragement and I love being that "whisper" in your ear. I will support you to the end and happily hug you when it's over.

My proudest moments have been:

  • 1) when I did my first un-assisted pull-up after 2 yrs
  • 2) doing a handstand against the wall because I doubted myself
  • 3) got the hang of double-unders (I'm still working on these, too)

But most of all, I stopped holding myself back from "fear" of becoming the light in my own darkness. Crossfit has taught me "never judge a book by its cover". We are all amazing human beings with bodies that are meant to move around and move things around. I love a good challenge and have been humbled by many of them. Don't let your mind get in your way of reaching your goals in the fitness arena. A healthy mind and a healthy body are the best suits of armor one can wear. I wear mine proudly and sometimes my crown needs readjusting. My name is Michelle and I will see you in class.
Nutrition coach

I have a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification in Exercise Nutrition which is a comprehensive nutrition education program. I have been working with clients for over 3 years to help people achieve their health and wellness goals. My goal is to educate, support and empower everyone I work with.
Through my personal journey I became aware that health and wellness not only relies on knowing what to do, but how to make it happen in our ongoing, busy lives. I practice a “progress over perfection” approach which allows clients to create a healthy life in a way that is maintainable, flexible, and rewarding one step at a time.
I have experience in working with a variety of clientele from people who would like to reach their optimal weight by losing pounds and inches, increase muscle mass through a combination of diet and exercise, eliminate food groups and/or foods that are not ideal for their health, and people who want to improve their overall health using diet and exercise. I have experience in working with different meal plans that include low-carb, keto, paleo, gluten free, and dairy free.
My overall goal is to help people develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for them and implement changes that will improve their health and help them reach their goals.

USAW Certification (2018)

I have been crossfitting and weightlifting at Power Performance since 2012. The community and camaraderie are as strong as you will find at any gym.

As Olympic Weightlifting became a bigger part of my fitness journey, it made sense for me to get a personal USAW certification and eventually led me into coaching. I thoroughly enjoy helping other athletes improve their Olympic lifts, whether their goals are to perform better in WODs, to get stronger, or just to have fun.

Come lift with us. Get stronger, move better, and have a great time!

After 25 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Clermont County, I can attest to the importance of fitness. Staying fit and lifting weights has not only protected me physically, but emotionally as well. Staying fit allows each of us the ability to help others while caring for ourselves. It is that outlook that I feel CrossFit and Power Performance strive for.

I was introduced to weightlifting while pole vaulting at the University of Cincinnati. After pole vaulting my lifting became so called traditional with Chest and Biceps on Monday, Back and Tri’s on Tuesday and so on. I played around with powerlifting styled workouts for several years and found myself becoming bored with the usual workouts.

Fast forward several years and being a gym owner myself I found CrossFit. I was very intrigued by the philosophy and amazed at the amount of movements being performed. It took several years for me to finally pull the trigger, but once I did, I have not gone back.

I have coached pole vaulting for over 20 years and spent a couple years as a strength coach for high school students. I have coached football at both the high school and youth levels. Thanks to my two sons I also spent several years as a baseball and lacrosse coach and conducted speed and agility training for individual athletes as well as for teams. I also coached a High School Powerlifting team that produced an athlete who set the Ohio State squat record and finished in the top 3 in the state.

I have watched my oldest son compete twice in the Regional CrossFit Games with a team and continue to watch and cheer my youngest son as he completes his senior year as a football player at The University of Cincinnati. I share all this as it gives insight into my coaching background. I have been exposed to many styles and many levels and continue to learn from everyone along the way. This is even more true now that I began CrossFit. I went from being somewhat timid and intimidated by the movements and intensity, to competing twice with one 3rd place finish at the Festivus Games in 2018 and being a partner with my wife Janet in her first competition.

I am now on a journey of coaching CrossFit and sharing all my experiences with others to make their CrossFit experience the best. I began coaching CrossFit about a year ago and found that I love working with the people of the CrossFit community and helping people set and achieve new goals in fitness. I am excited to work with all the members of the Power Performance community.

I am excited to become a member of your Power Performance Strength & Conditioning fitness team! I am looking forward to joining a fun community that is brought together through fitness. One of my main goals of student internship is to learn everything about the day to day operations of a fitness training facility. I am also excited to be involved with personal training, group training and to use my personal experience of playing collegiate football to work with student athletes at all levels. I want to provide a positive energy to training that makes it enjoyable for others and motivate people to reach out of their comfort zone. I’m super excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to work with the PPSC community in 2020.
