As a gym owner and mother of two very active boys, I understand the demands of balancing a busy life with the desire to stay fit and healthy.

I enjoy coaching and using CrossFit methodology to train myself and my athletes to maintain strength and lead a balanced, energized life. I began coaching others because I believe in the life changing benefits of functional fitness and proper nutrition. My goal as a coach is to encourage individuals to make long term lifestyle changes. I have found that the scalability of the exercises and intensity of CrossFit and its base of functional movements make it a great program for individuals of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. My goal is to connect with each Athlete that enters the facility for coaching in a way that motivates and encourages them to perform at their highest level of fitness. I am committed to staying in shape, live a full life and help others find their balance. I am committed to passing on an example of a healthy lifestyle and balanced life to my children.

Since discovering CrossFit in March 2009, I have been incorporating the workouts of the day (WOD) into my workout regimen. I continued doing the typical weight training and cardio routines 3-4 days a week and a CrossFit workout 1-2 days a week. I continued this schedule for 6-8 months. I began to see some definite improvements, but again plateaued. It wasn’t until March 2010 I joined CrossFit Power Performance and the breakthrough occured. Working out in the group setting, and making CrossFit my primary workout philosophy was exactly what I needed to launch my fitness level to new heights. The daily WOD’s combined with a zone based “clean” diet has allowed me to achieve goals I’ve been striving for since I began training for High school sports. I continue to set new PRs (personal records) regularly. CrossFit has become a HUGE part of my life!

As a firefighter/paramedic my level of physical fitness is paramount to my ability and success on emergency incidents. CrossFit has better prepared me (physically and mentally) for my profession, as well as life in general. I began to share my knowledge of CrossFit methodology to fellow firefighters. Several began to join me in the daily WOD’s. Seeing their improvements, and knowing I played a small part in their success, was rewarding beyond any personal accomplishment in recent history. I knew then that I wanted to be a CrossFit trainer. If you are willing to commit, myself and the other talented trainers can help you achieve fitness levels you never thought possible. No matter your fitness or exercise background!!

CrossFit Level 1 (2017)

My Military Background: I enlisted in the Military at the age of 17 in 2013 and signed for 6 years as an Army Military Police Officer. I have been deployed once to southern Turkey.

My Goals: I am currently in the National Guard and pursuing a career as a Chiropractor. I am attending school at the University of Cincinnati for prerequisites with the intent to transfer to the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

Why I coach: I coach for the love of CrossFit. CrossFit has been my passion for the last two years and I enjoying doing it every day. I began doing CrossFit on my deployment to Turkey and have loved it ever since. I like most of the movements but enjoy the body weight & gymnastics movements the best. My goal is to still be doing CrossFit when I'm 80 years old. With a great community like Power Performance pushing, inspiring & challenging me every workout, I am sure to stay true to my longevity CrossFit goals.

I am dedicated to helping any level athlete to reach their fitness goals safely.

I grew up an athlete, mainly focusing on soccer, and had tried every “boutique” gym workout available in Cincinnati. I had dabbled with some Nautilus machines and dumbbells but was never, ever a weightlifter. I found CrossFit at the end of 2013 and instantly fell in love with the sport and style of training. Since starting CrossFit, I have watched my body, mind, confidence, and outlook on life change. I love the quote from Camille Leblanc-Bazinet , “When I train, I erase all the limits and expectations of what I can do. I am powerful and anything is possible.” I love to instill this mindset into the people I coach and let them see that the possibilities are endless for them in CrossFit and in life.

I am married to my husband, David, and we have a very lively mix of 4 kids at home that we call “The Brady Bunch”. We reside in Loveland (where I grew up) and love venturing to local restaurants and breweries on the weekends. I like to keep my plate full and love keeping the balance of being a mom, wife, athlete, coach, and working part-time.

CrossFit Trainer, Level 1 (2017)

My husband, AJ, and I found Crossfit in 2014 as a way to get in shape before our wedding. I was in my last year of dental school and had limited time/energy to spend researching what I should do to get in shape. Growing up a three sport athlete (soccer, softball and basketball) I was used to a coach planning workouts/practices. I loved the idea of going to group fitness and having a "coach" again. Crossfit fueled my competitive spirit while working out with other athletes and beating my own personal bests. There is nothing better than starting or ending my day at Crossfit. It gives me the energy I need to conquer each day and the confidence to continue setting new goals to achieve.

After 3 years of Crossfit I decided to obtain my certification to coach. As a full time dentist I wasn't planning on coaching right away, but wanted to learn more about Crossfit to improve my personal performance. After my L1 I gained an even deeper appreciation and understanding of Crossfit. A few months went by and I felt drawn to coaching so I could share this passion of mine with others.

Outside of Crossfit I love to ski in the winter and wake surf in the summer. I've finished the World's Toughest Mudder in 2016 with 50 miles and still enjoy an occasional long run. My favorite Crossfit WOD: DT Crossfit Goats: everything gymnastics- butterfly pullups, muscle ups, etc.

I'm excited to be coaching at the gym where I first was introduced to CrossFit.

My coaching career started after I finished rowing for the University of Dayton in 2001, and includes coaching rowing at UD and the University of Cincinnati, and CrossFit and rowing classes at Diablo CrossFit in Northern California.

Additionally, I have enjoyed introducing people to CrossFit and weightlifting through 1:1 and group intro sessions, teaching movement to children via CrossFit Kids, working with several athletes with varying diagnoses of Autism, and programming for individuals who are working to overcome injury or have specific fitness goals.

Currently I work as a Wellness Coordinator providing exercise programs such as Silver Sneakers, chair yoga and water aerobics to senior citizens in the community and in our facility. I also help other employees find creative ways to stay active and understand the importance of a healthy diet.
